Default help needed for vof model

Hi,

I am using the Fluent VOF model to simulate a simple 2D flow between two parallel walls. The inlet is given pressure, and the outlet is ambient pressure. There is no surface tension and wall adhesion. I use the default settings for the vof model. But from the vof phase contour, I found that the filling is not good at the wall. There are many voids near the wall, which are far behind the flow front. I tried to increased the inlet pressure, reduce the time step, refine the meshes, and so on, but the problem still exists. I am wondering whether anyone has experience with such problem. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Yan

Dear yan,

I am also currently doing a simulation of flow through a channel (3D) using VOF model. Can you eleborate your problem?

My problem is to simulate the spontaneous capillary flow in a horizontal channel, which also takes the wall adhesion into consideration. Can you give me your email address? Maybe, we can discuss more about the implementation of the vof model.

Best regards.

Dear Yan

You can email me via this address u_gly@hotmail.com

I think the wall adhesion option is available for the vof model.

Regards
