Hi folks,

I have generated a large 3D grid in Gambit (ab. 1,000,000 cells) and now I am trying to read it into Fluent. But Fluent refused and gave following error:

> reading geometrie.msh ...

............

............

............

999999: MPT_csend_int: error: file = section.c, line = 6251: mpid = 0 undefined: Operation would block

999999: MPT_csend_int: error: file = section.c, line = 6263: mpid = 0 undefined: Operation would block

sh: syntax error at line 1: `(´ unexpected

What the h… does that mean?? After that, Fluent has to be killed and restarted again ...

Any help is highly appreciated!

Ralf

Hi,

now I was using 10 as a grid size (instead of 8) to minimize my mesh. So Fluent begins to read the mesh... but while reading BC, following error appears:

Dump usage: 1141627 cells, 2446863 faces, 274585 nodes

this is repeated very often (with different values for faces and nodes) and nothing happens...

what is the Problem??

1- increase RAM of your system 2- when you read mesh file choose segregated solver

there are some problems with the mesh reading when you do it into parallel mode. But i have observed that if you can read the mesh first into single processor and do the manual partioning and then save the case data files. And then read into fluent parallel it reads okey. I in start got some errors like you have mentioned but then i started doing manual partioning and then there is no probs till now.
