Creating a mesh in Gambit

Hi, I'm trying to mesh a 3D Geometry imported from ProE into GAMBIT. I actually want to mesh the flow field around the solid. So I tried to create a cylinder (which mimics a tube) around the solid.
My problem is that the mesh is not being created. I tried to do it on the lines of the car model given in the tutorial in GAMBIT, but it somehow does not work. Can someone help me with this? Thanks, Vidya |

What exactly is happening? What steps were you performing? Are you real or virtual? How many volumes are you working with? Are you using sizing functions? What's the error you are getting?

I'm working with a 3D solid model created in ProE. It is a real volume. I have to create a cylinder (which mimics a tube) around the solid and then subtract the volume of the solid from that of the tube to get the flow domain around the solid. I do not know how to use the sizing functions. Can you tell me how to use them? I tried to do this on the same lines as that of the car model given in the GAMBIT tutorial. But the mesh of the flow domain could not be created at all. The error message read: COULD NOT CREATE A VIRTUAL VOLUME FROM A REAL VOLUME.
Is there any other way I can tackle the problem. In this case, I also want the flow field around and inside the solid. What should I do? Please help. Thanks, Vidya |

What command were you doing when you go the error "could not create a virtual volume from a real volume"?
