Default Y+ Values in 2D analysis

All,

I have a question regarding setting Y+ values and I hope some one can help me with this.

Does the depth value which you get from (Report>Refrence values) in 2D cases affect your Y+? Say I specify a cell height and use depth of 1m in the reference values, would it give the same Y+ even if I use a depth of 0.1m?

Well, the coefficients change, however I am not sure if it will affect the Y+. Please advise on what you think.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks, Alan.

The reference depth is used in post processing phase, e.g to calculate the mass flow rate you need an area, and in 2d analysis this third dimension is the reference depth

But will it affect the Y+?

Check the equation for y+ in the Fluent manual - the geometric driver is the distance of the cell (center I think) from the wall - which is determined automatically from your grid.

The reference values should not influence y+
