Extract surfaces?

Hello everybody. I would like to ask if is it possible to copy the in-Fluent created surfaces of a case to another. I don't mean surfaces that belong to the grid but surfaces that have been defined e.g. for post processing purposes.
Thanks, Ilias |

Hi Ilias,
One way could be writing a journal file when you create your surface(s) for the first time and then re-load it when you want to create it again. I assume that you don't involve any particular surface of a specific case file you won't find in another case when you define your surface (use the line/plane tool but be careful of the reference frame)...but maybe there's something more straightforward... Hope this can help Edi. |

Thanks Edi for the tip. I created the journal files but they don't work properly. I mean that errors come up all the time... I was hoping that there was and another way... Thank you anyway Edi for your response.

How did you create the journal file? If you record your GUI inputs then the journal stores them as the relative positions in the menu lists. By using the equivalent text commands in the journal, you can create journals which should work for each case. These TUI journals take longer to create.
Hope this helps Mark |
