IS FLUENT A VISCOUS SOLVER??

HI ALL
pls tell me whether fluent is only a viscous solver?? or can we model inviscid flow in fluent?? actually i modelled an inviscid flow past a circular cylinder...but there is a pressure drop at the aft side of the cylinder which shud occur in case of viscous problem and not in inviscid problem....so please clarify my doubts... ur help is highly appreciated.... its urgent for my project..plssss help me... thank u.. karthik |

Try 'Define -> Models -> Viscous ...' and then 'Inviscid'

i did the inviscid flow like that only...i mean.. "Define-> Models -> Viscous -> Inviscid.... still i'm getting a pressure drop which shud not happen with the case of inviscid flow....
plss tell me whether inviscid flows can be solved in fluent or not??/ thanks for the reponse... any response is highly appreciated... thanks |

I assume you are using the (default) seggregated, pressure based solver. Switch to coupled, density based and the difference in drag coefficient for the cylinder surface will be dramatic.

its impossible to get a 100% correct from commercial a solver anyhow try the previous one bye
