gambit coincident face error

Hi, I'm using gambit to im port an stl file with feature angle =180. On previous geometries I was able to stitch the faces and then mesh the resulting volumes Hoowever when i try to stitch faces (multiple volumes, type=virtual) I get a few messages similar to:
"error face 123 and face 234 are coincident" I''ve tried deleting face 234 and such but then it doesnt have an enclosed volume. My stl file is coming from idl, if you have any ideas on how to make a better stl file or how to fix it in gambit let me know. after the erro messages it creates a few volumes, but when I volume mesh them, it can't because of skewed elements. I've been struggling to get this to work for a long time, if you can help I'd appreciate it very much. Thanks |

also the stl file is only a piece of the data I want to use in fluent, so any way of eliminating some extraneous polygons would be helpful too. I've goten certain pieces of the data to work, but not the one I need for a presentation. also any ideas on how to best write the stl files so that they can be put together after meshing in either tgrid or fluent would be good.
thank you thank you thank you |
