curently i am using idl to write stl files from polygon and vertices data. however when i import the stl in gambit or fluent it doesnt have the indivual faces, just the virtual geometry(which is nearly impossible to work with) so setting the boundary conditions doesn't work
Would anyone know a way to either: a) from the polygon and vertices data write an IGES, STEP, ACIS, or parasolid file, or other format gambit supports imports of (using idl preferably) b) after converting the stl file to a dxf file, use rhino to export a geometry to gambit that will succesfully mesh c) know which format works best between gambit and rhino (i'm not very familiar with rhino) currently i get messages about perturbing nodes when i try to mesh in gambit. d) a way to fix imported geometry in gambit so that the volumes will mesh (mesh is initializing but not refining) Overall the goal is to get to fluent and be able to set boundary conditions. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm getting desperate trying to get this to work. |
