Default boundary layer trips in laminar flat plate flow

All,

I'm trying to model a surface protrusion (rib, turbulator) on a flat plate undergoing laminar flow (Re~800). I need to model both the flow and heat transfer. Does anyone have any general advice on doing so, including which turbulence model to use (if any), boundary condition recommendations, and mesh density recommendations?

appreciate it DAVID
