Default Inlet and outlet boundary condition

Hi,

I want to simulate flow in a manifold with one inlet and two outlets. I only have total mass rate and pressure drops between inlet and outlets.

Is it possible to use inlet and outlet boundary conditions? What boundary conditions are suitable for this type of analysis?

BR, David

Hi,David

I think that you can use the "pressure-inlet " and "pressure-outlet" boundary conditions with the "target mass flow rate" in the "pressure-outlet" setting pannel being selected (FLUENT V 6.2).

In other version (6.0), you can set by commands, in the fluent console.

I think u can use mass-flow-inlet for inlet, and presssure-onlet for outlet.

You may use the mass flow for inlet and pressure outlet for outlet. the target mass flow rate is only suitable if you know the ratio of first outlet to second outlet. I don't recommend that since you only got the pressure drop value only. However, there's a difference between pressure drop and outlet pressure. Pls. be aware of it.
