We recently acquired two new Sun Solaris systems(Sun Blade2500), which didnot come with any C compiler. So, we installed gcc compiler but I am stillunable to run my compiled UDF. This UDF is written in such a way that it runs only in compiled mode. I have ask Fluent about it and they say I need to make a change in makefile.udf in order to use gcc compiler. I would appreciate if somebody can tell me what are the changes that needs to be made in order for Fluent to accept gcc compiler as a default compiler? I have project that needs to be done and the company is not going to spend money at this moment. So, any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks,

It would be more helpful if you can post some error message to start with?

Hi All, Thank you for your kind responses. I am operating in Sun Solaris v9.0 The error message that I get is "Errorpen_udf_library: No such file or directory." My understanding so far about this is that I have not been able to make the necessary changes in the makefile.udf to make the gcc compiler as the default compiler. Would really appreciate if anybody can tell me what is the changes that needs to be made. Thanking You!

Can you see a libudf library being created in the working directory?

Yes, I do see a libudf directory under the working directory and it has the following directories in it: *src *ultra *ultra64 and a makefile which doesnot have any extension ot it. Acutally before the error message that I posted earlier, another error message appears and it says cannot open "-log" file.(this happens when you hit the build command) I do greatly appreciate your time and kind response. Thanks Again,

It is a problem with the path I would say. Looks like you started Fluent from a directory which is different from the directory where the libudf directory is present. Am I right?
