Default Help!! Is it possible to merge two cas-files?

Hello fluent-users,

I already set up an problem and got good results. But now I need to solve al lot of different variants, where all the boundaries stay equal to my first case, but a small internal part of geometry should by changed. Is it possible to create a cas-file (with all the boundary condition definied) with an "internal hole" where I can read the different geometries into. I don´t want to merge the grids before I start fluent, because then I have to define all my materials and bc for every variant. It is "just" a simple internal detail, which should be changed from variant to variant and I have an huge number of variants to calculate.

Thanks for your help!

Thomas

You can write the bc's from the first case (use the text command: "file" then "write-bc") and read them into all of the following cases ("file" then "read-bc"). I don't know if that will pull the material properties as well though, but at least it's something.

Hope this helps, and goodluck, Jason

when I use tmerge, iam loosing my all my defined parameters. so tmerge just merge the meshes but takes all the default-bc parameters.

the material-properties are not taken into the new cas-file. but you´re right: it is something

You are right. So you need to write a journal file in order to set all parameters automatically.
