Energy balance problem

Hello,
I have simulated a non-premixed combustion (wood): Through an injection I put 400g fuel in my combustion chamber and through a mass flow inlet 9 kg air. The system converges. The fuel is an empirically defined stream with a lower caloric value about 17 MJ/kg (C: 32% H: 47% O: 21% N: 0%). When I examine the fluxes, I realise that the combustion is much too cold: Only 1,35 MJ net heat-transfer reports fluent. The net mass-flow is about 369g which is a suitable value because some partikels are not completly evaporating. I think I should have 0.369 kg X 17 MJ/kg = 6,2 MJ; whats the problem ? |

Remeber that Fluent energy flux report's are the total enthalpy (thermal+chemical), while your calculation is only thermal.
