Bruggeman correction

I'm working with FLUENT 6.0 and I'd like to know if there is an option in the porous fluid zone for considering the Bruggemann correction of the mass diffusivity:
D_eff=D*por^tor or it's necessary to use UDFs. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks in advance. Giordano Bruno |

If you have only porous media and a constant tortuasity value you could just calculate this and then input it for your diffusivity value in the fluent gui. If you have porous and fluid zones, as well as different porosities for different zones then best to use the UDF. Be aware though that there is a error in Fluent 6.0 and when you attempt to define the diffusivity it misses passing one of the indices necessary to define a binary diffusivity. I would recommend an upgrade to 6.1.22.

Thanks a lot for your response. I'm attempting to use UDF for defining different mass diffusivity coefficients Dim for the i-th specie in the mixture m, without using binary diffusivity Dij coefficients and I'm wondering if the error in Fluent 6.0 regards only Dij or even Dim since I've some problem with the obtained results. Thanks in advance. Giordano Bruno
