If you simulate microreactor using VOF, you should be careful as follows;

if you set Courant number = 1, time step should be smaller than sqrt( dx^3 * density / surface_tension )

here dx:minimum mesh size

What kind of problems are you working on in microreactors? I am working on 3D VOF in microreactors and got some problems. I need some helps, probably you are the best one.

I'm working on in MR as follows; (1) In Spiral MR, liquid-liquid and gas-liquid VOF model. (2) Laminar flow reaction.

And,I don't have good ideas about (2) avoiding numerical diffusion.

I think that we are working on the same area. Probably we can disscuss some issues together.
