Hi All,
I have been trying to use a UDF in one of my simulation's. I have trouble loading the udf. I would like to know if there is any connection ( or setting of path if any ) between Microsoft Visual Studio and Fluent that I need to establish before being succesfully able to build and load the udf in fluent. Regards, Mukund. |

Dear Mukund,
I just start to use UDF. Would you like to interprete or complile your UDF? You should read at the manual or help in FLUENT and it is up to the kind of your UDF that it must be interpreted or complied.( interprete is easy more then compile) My answer is right to your point? Bowling |

Well, thank you Bowling for taking time out to post a reply, I am trying to follow the tutorial problems before I get on with my problem.
The point is that I am able to solve the problems which use interpreting but the ones which need the compilation process seem to give me errors. Mukund. |

The compile is more difficult than interprete. Which version do u use? For 5.5 still has the problem for me because it is not same in the manual. Most people suggest me to use version 6.0. So i am changing to 6.0 and run my compiler again. I think that if it can interprete, it may be have no problem in compile.

Hello Bowling,
I am working with Fluent 6.1, but i still seem to have problems with the compiling while the tutorials which require intepretting work fine. Do you think you can guess the reason. Mukund. |

I have no idea about the problem of the compiling. Are you sure that your code have to compile only? Because most of udf can interprete or complie. (I still cannot compile my code but it can use only interprete) I am finding that why.

Hello Bowling,
I am very sure aout the compiling of the udf. Well, i did try interprtting thr udf and it gave me a different error. Iam still trying to get thi thing working. Hoping for the best. If you can ( i mean find time ), try the tutorial on dynamic meshes and see if u are able to get it running, let me know if u r successful. Regards, Mukund |
