Hi,
Does anyone have experience in adding frictional viscosity into the granular model? Fluent only provides Schaffer's model, how does it work? Except this, is there any other frictional viscosity available? ThankS! Hp |

Schaeffer frictional viscosity correlation (see FLUENT manual) calculates the frictional viscosity on the basis of the angle of friction.
This correlation has been applied successully to granualar flows in many different applications. You can find more information in the paper by Schaeffer, which is cited in the FLUENT manual bibliography. Hi ap |

ap,
Yeah, I know the paper by Schaeffer. And there is a lot of mathematics in this paper which gave me heartattack. Can you tell me some papers which apply his friction viscosity ? Thanks. Hp |

There are many papers where Schaeffer's correlation is applied, for example, to fluidized beds.
Look for Van Wachem works, just to cite one. Hi ap |
