UDF 3D inlet b.c. problem

Hello,
I am trying to define a 3D parabolic inlet velocity profile using a UDF. My udf compiles (as an interpreted udf) without any errors. It then becomes an option to pick in the inlet boundary condition drop down list. However, when I try to initialize the flow, the program freezes. Has anyone experienced this problem, and if so, did you find a solution? Thank you, Andrew |

What I mean when I say the "program freezes" is that the simulation cannot be started. In the 'initialization window' I select initialize flow from inlet condition and that is as far as I can get. It doesn't initialize the flow or report an error. It just simply locks up - doesn't do anything. I cannot select another option, it won't respond to anything. All I can do is kill the program in the unix shell.

This is kind of a roundabout way of getting around the problem, but you could manually write a profile in a text editor and read that into FLUENT for you boundary condition.

First of all, check if the problem happens even without the UDF. If not, try to post the code you're using.
If you do a search on this forum, you should find a UDF for a 3D parabolic velocity profile I posted in an answer to another question. Hi ap |
