Hi,
I am intrested in checking the absolute velocity values (or other parameters of interest) for each/different iteration . Can anybody help me , how to get these absolute velocity values for two successive iterations in fluent? Can we save these values before convergence/divergence is achieved. Thanks in advance for the solution !!! Regards Gaurav |

You need to write a UDF for this using the DEFINE EXECUTE_AT_END where in you could write the values into a file. -Ajay

Dear Gaurav
Another way can be as follows. 1) Draw a line/plane using surface menu. Go to XY plot and write values of velocity (or any property of interest) to a file. 2) Set number of iterations to 1 and iterate. 3) write values of velocity to another file. You can compare these by using XY plot in Fluent. You can alo process the data in MS Excel or any other numerical processing program. Hope this addresses your requirement. Regards Prasad |

Hi Gaurav,
You may try this. 1) Go to "Solve - Animate - Define - Display Type XY Plot". Select appropriate directory. 2) Choose surface (preferably a line) and property of interest on Y-axis. 3) You will have display of the plot which will be refreshed after every iteration. This frequency is to be set in Animation dialogue box. Regards Prasad |
