Default HVAC Simulation. Urgent !!

I have to simulate an air-conditioned room and to predict the temperature and humidity distributions in the room. Please help to provide the following info:

1) the standard geometry library, such as human body, chair, table, etc.

2) how to define the latent and sensible heat loads for the human body

3) how to define the inlet conditions for the diffusers ( cool air and moisture supply)

4)Do I need to write a UDF in order to simulate the moiture flow? Or, I can just use the species transport model. Is that enough?

5) How to evaluate the comfort index from the simulation results. Please provide the common formula used, so that I can write a UFS.

Many Thanks.

Hi,

Most of your needs are available at Airpak, human body, heat loads, diffusers, moisture flow, comfort index etc.

If you are using Fluent species transport equations are enough to model the moisture in air, but need UDFs for comfort index like PPD, PMV etc.

Thank you very much for your reply. We have only Fluent at the moment. Could you kindly guide me to find out the info that I need in order to simulate the air-conditioned room with Fluent?

Many thanks.

Hi,

There is an usteady HVAC example with validations at fluentusers.com. Although it is solved with Airpak, it should give you an idea about the physical models, disc. schemes, under-rlxn factors etc. You can use the same information at Fluent. Only extra thing you should know is how to use the species transport equations and it is written in the manual chapter 13.4.

Regards

emre

denise is on a distinguished road
Hi Emre and Boris,
i am trying to solve humidity transfer in enclosure, every where isolated except for ceiling..ceiling is cooled..but in Fluent i can see temperature gradient but there is no mass fraction of H2O gradient..i am trying to write UDF but, what is the source term? there is no generation of humidity in my room..how to include natural convection using bossinique model in simple species transport without reaction phenomenon.?
