hi all,

I am running a 2D axisymmetric unsteady problem. I have a solid zone for which I want to specify engery source terms (W/m3). I have these values in a profile file and I am reading those values from there. But when I try to run my model, I get access violation erro. It gives some chip-exec error and tells me that the particular term in the profile file can not be accessed. following are the details

Error: chip-exec: function "qvolTANK2" not found. Error: FLUENT received fatal signal (ACCESS_VIOLATION) 1. Note exact events leading to error. 2. Save case/data under new name. 3. Exit program and restart to continue. 4. Report error to your distributor. Error Object: ()

Has anyone come across this error? what is the solution?

hi,

i solved this problem by writing a simple define source udf.

is it true that profiles files can not be used for writing source terms in Fluent?

Hi,

No, you can't specify it.

Profile file is for a certain face value at specified BC.
