Default DISPLAY ON SAME WINDOW

Hi,

Is it possible to plot the data corresponding to different flow times on the same window. For example, I want to plot volume fraction contours of my freely falling and deforming droplet at time 1s, 2s, 3s on the same plot, so that the deformation w.r.t time can easily be seen on one contour plot.

Hi;

For plot, you can write to file your each data in plot panel and then load all of them in a same window in the file panel in plot menue.

For contour you should in scene panel in display menue, turn on "overlays". Then you can see many contours in the same panel.

Thanks Roozbeh,

I've already tried to manage this using overlays, but it is not possible to overlay contours from different data files(having the same case file but the different data file corresponding to different flow time)

I think your best bet may be to resort to create many seperate images, and then overlay them using some graphics package (or if you are really lazy, feed the same piece of paper through the printer several times)

Any decent graphics program should be able to overlay a number of images.

It would be nice, if one could manage this within Fluent, since it would be nice to have such a contour showing the time history on the same layout (gives an impression just like a moving picture animation.)

hi,

i suggest you save the xy file at 1,2 and 3s and then load them in the same window using plot->xy plot function.

hope this helps
