defining periodicity in fluent 6.x

Hello,
I was importing a hybrid mesh (one quarter model with hexas in cyclinder and tetras in cone) Now I want to define periodicity (/grid/modify-zones/make-periodic). The faces that I want to make peridoic have zone id as Bc. I suggest this is just the zone I could define while making them periodic but what about shadow zones. I do not know which is the shadow zone. I also get the error message: failed to make zones periodic. Can anybody help me? Have a lot thanks for this. regards, apit |

Hi!
Is the mesh on the faces that you want to make periodic exactlly the same? I think it's easyer to do this in gambit... MATEUS |

hi,
thank you for answering me. I suppose you are right-maybe the tetra-meshed faces are not exactly the same. Of course its easier to mesh with gambit (I have done it before) but now I have to use icem cfd ... regards apit |
