I am doing a dissertation on T-Foils at the moment and using Fluent. I was wondering how a free surface could be created which included the back of the boat and a submerged foil?

Hi
An interesting problem. I've had a play around modelling T-Foils using Fluent, but not looking at the free surface as yet. I've modelled simple free surface problems with CFX but not with Fluent. I would also like to know how to go about setting up this sort of problem in Fluent. Are you modelling a T-Foil rudder, similar to that used on sailing hydrofoils, like the Hobi Tri-Foiler? Let me know how you get on. Regards James |
