Local surface contour line plots

Hi,

I have written a scheme script to create surface planes within a 3-d simulation domain and generate contour plots onto these surfaces. I am however unable to generate contour plots with the local variable values on the surfaces. the default 'global' values seem to be getting used all the time. is there some manner in which i can avoid this without having to calculate the local maxima and minima of the variable on the surface each time i wish to place a contour plot on it?
