Reliable sources inside Fluent confirms that they're working on a 64-bit port of Fluent to the AMD64 architecture. And it's expected that an AMD64 optimized version of Fluent will be available by the first quarter of next year.
A 64-bit version for AMD64 will be announced on this page when available: http://www.fluent.com/software/platf...ware/platform/ AMDs Opteron processor (a part of the AMD64 platform) is currently only supported by Fluent in 32-bit mode. |

This is really great news!
We use Fluent at work and are planning to buy new powerful workstations later this year or the beginning of next year. I hear that the 64-bit performance on Opteron is really great. I'll certainly put in a recommendation for buying dual Opteron-based systems, and I hope that the prices have dropped a bit too by then. |
