Hi,
I want fluent to calculate the heat transferred from a flame through a furnace wall to give the outside temperature of the furnace wall. Can fluent do this? Do you create and mesh the walls in Gambit? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Mark. |

Hfi Mark,
The problem you have detailed can be solved using fluent. If you are modelling the problem as a 2D problem then use gambit to generate the geometry and mesh. Otherwise you may find it easier to generate your geometry using a diffent design package for 3D and then exporting it. Take a look at the user guide for FLUENT 6.1 on the link below. There is a link for the tutorials guide as well which will also be of use to you. www.psc.edu/general/software/packages/fluent/doc/index.htm Mcgregor |
