DPM and LES

We are working CFD modelling of hydrocyclones and are using LES for turbulence modelling. For simulating the particle trajectories we use DPM. When we use DPM with other turbulence models, in the "Display' "Particle Tracks" screen when we click "report type" as "summary" and the "report to" option as "file" then the "write" option automatically is displayed. This basically gives us the provision to write the results in a file and save it so that we can view it later. But this is not so in the case of LES with DPM . Even after the "report to file" option is clicked, the write option is not displayed. hence we are not able to write the results on to a file. also in the stochastic tracking model of DPM the number of tries option doesn't get on. Anyone of you have come across such problems. Please help R.sripriya

Hi
the manual say DPM and LES are not compatible, I cannot tell you exactly the section number I guess 28. However, you can search at fluent userwebside fro compatibility and models Sorry to give you bad news! I try to use the LES and DPM long time ago, Even I get in contact to Fluent support and they give the same answer "I can not run DPM with LES" Regards Alex Munoz |

Hello
I work on the numerical simulation of multiphasic flows in a settling basin The flow is a mixture of water and solid particles of diameter 0.015 and 0.01 mm I want to know with which model I can particle for these particles |
