hello...i got a problem on meshing. I am simulating 3d object..my problem is..do i have to meshing a face first,..then after that meshing the volume...pls advise

Edge meshing, then face meshing, then volume meshing.(My personal opion)

i have a difficutie on meshing the volume...i just meshing face and the volume..but the it takes a hours to complete

Hello Nikita,
Maybe you should check the size/number of mesh you actually use in the problem. Most of the time slow meshing is accociated with the number of elements used (At least from my experience)and other factors... A few things to consider 1. Have you tried to mesh at coarser mesh? 2. Have you done the grid dependency test? Sometimes we don't have to resolve to the finer mesh possible depending on the error we can stomach 3. What's the type of element you used? I guess you have to figure out what you actually want from the model and roughly predict the behavior of flow before start meshing. You also can incorporate stuff such as shape-function and boundary layer Especially shape function. However if you REALLY need the fine mesh.. The long meshing time if something that you have to live with... But try other form of mesh control.. You might find some ways that work well |

follow the meshing icons in gambit GIU, edge,face then volume.
