Hi, I am using a domain which i have divided into sub-volume for local refinement. Now the problem is when i export the mesh to fluent the faces of the sub-volumes become shell/wall and hence the flow is not moving from inlet to outlet and is blocked by the face of the subvolume. I tried changing the surface type of the face from wall to interior and tried running again. Still the flow can't move past the face.
How can rectify the problem so that the flow goes from inlet to outlet. |

Hi
Why don't you made the refinement of the mesh using grid Adaption in fluent, it is easy, faster and better. Regards Alex Munoz |

Having one face there, if you can change it to interior, then it should be OK. Anyway (assuming you are using gambit) keep connected option on when splitting volume into subvolumes. Or try to connect faces if there are more than 1.

Hi
I read again your case I found what is your mistake It is so simple, you forgot one step Once you made your volumes, don't forget to unit them and then decompose the geometry using split tool before to generate your mesh This mistake happen very often, Even happen to me once. Regards Alex Munoz |
