Dear sir,

would like to know how to draw a solid support on top of a solid tube(both of which is emcompassed in the middle of a large circular duct)and mesh it? Cos when i tried my method, i find tht fluent cant seem to recognise the interface between the solid tube and the solid suport...meaning the part where the surface of the solid tube intersects the top surface of the tube cannot seem to be distinguished as separate entites.. how to specify the tube as a complete solid(made of aluminium) and the solid support made of ash? to simplify, how to distinguish separate walls between the solid support and the solid tube(though they have a coomon intersection point of the surface the the solid tube)?

try to split geometries with each other. This will help you to overcome the problem.

to define different materials in fluent u must have the geometris as diffrent interior parts in fluent, so u must define them as seperate continuum in gambit or tgrid.
