Dear Fluent Customer,
I would like to make you aware of the new Fluent Remote Simulation Facility. This new service allows Fluent users to take advantage of secure supercomputer resources "on demand" using either "pay as you go" or fixed rate payment plans. The service is an excellent way to help handle "surge requirements" that require extra computational horsepower, or to experiment with Fluent outstanding parallel processing capability. To find out more about this new service please see http://www.fluent.com/software/rsolve/index.htm . If you are registered as a Fluent User, you can purchase capacity online at http://www.fluentusers.com/index.html . If you are interested in seeing a demonstration of this new solution, a private demonstration can be scheduled at your desktop using Placeware. To schedule a demonstration please contact your salesperson (or me directly at pb@fluent.com) and we will schedule an appropriate time for you. Thank-you Paul Bemis Vice President eBusiness Fluent Inc. 10 Cavendish Court Lebanon, NH 03766, U.S.A. email: Paul.Bemis@fluent.com Phone/Fax: +1 (603) 643 2600/1767 |

Wow, that is expensive. TTI sells CPU for less than $1 per hour (from $0.25 for an Athlon 1GHz to $0.65 for a 64 bit Alpha CPU I think). They don't have Fluent installed though.
I guess that you pay $55 mainly for the use of the Fluent license. Are there any other ASP services that offer Fluent? |

The $55 is valid if you want purchase small quantities of CPU-hrs with no committment on volume. Most users are purchsing capacity in bulk at much lower $/CPU-hr prices. If you are interested in this we can speak more about it privately. Also, please note this is a fully secure portal site with much more funtionality than TTI has to offer. The comparison is not "apples to apples". And no, you cannot get Fluent from any other ASP.

The systems are currently SGI Origin 3000's. Many of them. We will be adding Intel clusters as well in the near future. The site will always have the latest and best commercially available systems.

Worcenter Bremen should offer fluent as ASP. Unfortunately my tests did not work well due to our firewall settings which are very restrictive.
I think they take about 30 Euro/per CPU-h. |

We have some special offers going on this month with discounts on ranging up to 70%. If any of you have the need to perform some extra simulations using large multiprocessor based 64 bit "supercomputers", please send me an email at paul.bemis@fluent.com and we will provide some specifics.
