FLOWS WITH SEPERATION AND RECIRCULATION

HI, I am trying to simulate a case of repeated blocks at the entrance of a rectangular channel. How effective is the k-e RNG model in predicting seperation and re-attachment in the flows. It gives good values for the fully developed region. But it under estimates where there is heavy seperation and recirculation especially in the region between the blocks.Since RNG model uses wall functions how dependent is it on the wall Y + values. Any suggestions, Should I try a different model,
