How to set turbulence parameters at periodic BC?

Hi,
I am working on 2-D unsteady turbulence simulation for incompressible flow in a chemical reactor. I set the channel inlet and outlet to be periodic with constant mass flow rate. But when I turn on the turbulence model, I can not set the turbulence parameters, say, the tubulence intensity and hydraulic diameter, etc, at the inlet and outlet of channel, however, the simulation can go on. I wonder if this kind of turbulence simulation makes sense! How can I set the turbulence parameters at periodic BC? Thanks! Ray |

You don't need boundary conditions on periodic boundaries.
By definition, turbulence quantites (or other solution variables too) will repeat themselves on peridic boundaries. This fact is exploited in the solver in an implicit manner, which obviates the need for users to set the values of the solution variables on periodic boundaries. |

when you apply rotationnal peridiodic boundary conditions, you don't need any boundary conditions to apply. At the opposite when you apply translationnal periodic boundary conditions you just need to need to set the pressure drop or the flow rate .
