how to import ASCII data to Gambit?

Hi All, I am looking at the turbulent flow over different 2-D profiles. Often, it would be (much) easier to make a simple ASCII file with coordinates of a profile (edge) and then import these data to Gambit than to draw this surface in Gambit. I tried to File->Import->ASIC - didn't work. Does somebody know how to do it? Thanks

Try to check the versions of the acis format file, with gambit1.1 from autocad2000 it works correctly.

Hi, an ASCII format is not an ACIS format!! The best way for reading an ASCII format with coordinates is to use the journal file. Your journal file must content the right syntax for the command "create vertex", eg. "vertex create coordinates 1 1 1", where 1 1 1 are the value of x,y,z coordinates. Best Regards Pavel

Gambit allows import of point data from an ascii file with xyz coordinates. It can automatically create vertices, curves and surfaces. These options are available through File -> Import -> ICEM Input & File -> Import -> Vertex Data. Please contact your Fluent Support Engineer for details.
