I want to construct a global modular model that is organized as three models, each model will be created separatly (geometry, meshing, and physical models) then after i want to couple theses models together. The problem, i don't know if it'is possible to do that with fluent 4.5 or fluent 5.
Can somene help me thanks |

Dear Kerdouss,
If you know the boundary conditions between the models exactly, you maybe solve the three models coupled together with Fluent 5. If you can tell me your problems in detail, perhaps I can help you. Best Regards, You Yingjiu |

Dear You; Thanks for your answer. I use Fluent 5 in modeling 3D rotary lime kiln. The model that i built is compact model containing the refractory model, the freeboard gas model and lime bed model. I built the geometry of the rotary composed on three zones, lime bed, refractory zone and freeboard zone, with known bondaries (in Gambit). I have a problem with the interface between the freeboard gas and lime bed. I take it as wall with specified velocity. But when i specifie this interface as wall, i can't simulate the mass transfer between bed and de freeboard gas ( there are some reactions in bed that produce CO2 that it must go to freeboard). i think about many solutions: - to make this interface as interior, but with is type of boundaries i can't imposed velocity at the interface. -I create a user defined scalar that i calculate in the bed lime and then i stock it as source term in the freeboard gas, but i failed. So i think if it's possible to split the three zones separately (geometry, meshing, etc.) and i couple the simulations, in Fluent 5, between them . may be i will resolve the problem Best regards Fouzy Kerdouss |
