Default Variables at off-node locations

In Fluent 5, it is relatively straightforward to determine a flow variable at an arbitrary location by creating a point and then requesting the vertex-averaged value at that point. However, I am interested in obtaining a large number of values at prescribed off-node locations, i.e. do not coincide with the computational mesh.

Is there a user-defined function to interpolate the stored values in a general unstructured mesh at a specified location within the domain?

Thanks in advance
