Hi everybody,
It's my first project to create geometry and mesh using Design Modeler and Ansys Meshing. I am simulating a tunnel which has 900m lengths with a diameter of 8m. Water will be passed through this tunnel. In the middle of the tunnel, a branch has been modeled, as it can be seen in the attached photo. I have modeled the geometry using design modeler and divided that into 4 parts to generate an appropriate fine mesh near the place of the branch. I have selected these 4 bodies and formed a new part in design modeler. It should be noted that unit is meter and LARGE MODEL SUPPORT is on. although I have formed a new part in design modeler, in Ansys meshing, I still have those 4 bodies under part 5 and I also have 3 CONTACT REGIONS, which connect those 4 bodies. If I don't delete these 3 CONTACT REGIONS in Ansys Meshing, I will have the following walls both in INTERFACE and WALL boundary condition in my SETUP. and Fluent consider them as a wall with NO SLIP boundary condition. I will also have 3 CONTACT REGION in MESH INTERFACE. If I delete these 3 CONTACT REGIONS in Ansys Meshing, I wall have just 1 WALL with NO SLIP boundary condition, which would be the body of the tunnel and it would be logical. No Mesh Interface will be in my setup. But a WALL_FLUID_DOMAIN will exist under INTERFACE boundary condition. when I check Mesh, Fluent says that "UNASSIGNED INTERFACE ZONE DETACHED FOR INTERFACE WALL_FLUID_DOMAIN", and it is not possible to initialize the solution. I think that the second approach would be correct, but I could not solve the mentioned problem. some photos are attached to elaborate the problem more clearly. Any Help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your precious TIME. MY GEOMETRY.PNG MY GEOMETRY-1.PNG MY SETUP.jpg MY SETUP2.jpg |

My best practice is to have a clean and clear CAD. That means that is only one common face between two bodies. Use the share tool for joining in the Design Modeler or SpaceClaim. Your connection between tunnel and branch looks not very well for the flow.
