Hi friends,
I'm trying to run a 2d laminar pipe flow simulation on ansys fluent. It seems like even if I initialize the fluid domain to have both zero pressure and velocity throughout the entire domain, the velocity immediately fills up the entire domain right at the first time step of the simulation instead of showing the development of the flow over time. This doesn't look physically correct to me. What are some possible issues or am I just mistaken? |

If you are using an incompressible fluid then the fluid in the pipe must start moving once fluid enters the inlet. Without fluid exiting at the outlet you would break conservation of mass.
