Hello,
I have an engine I used Partially Premixed Combustion - Flamet generated manifold. I started the combustion by patching progress variable to 1. But I want to remove the patch after a while to get more accurate results. But when I remove the patch temperatures drops and combustion ended. How can I continue to combustion without patching the progress variable to 1 ? I already tried to made patch with high temperature but it didn't worked. |

Hi,
Setting the progress variable to 1 is actually used quite often. You can also try patching mixture fraction. If your simulation is in steady state, you can try patching a larger volume onto a mixing region in your domain and create a hot mixing region where hot gases have larger residual time. There should be no need to "remove the patch" as it will adjust and remove itself along with iterations and incoming flow. |
