Hello everyone, first time poster here.
I have ansys fluent problem that I cannot find any help with. I am simulating 3d extrusion of polymer and I want to compare strand shape (cross section) to external research paper. In that paper, they used Isosurface with polymer volume fraction of 0.5 for analysis, so I created that Isosurface and sliced it with a plane (fig 1) but when it comes to data extraction, I do not see any way to specify range for the data extraction (fig 2). I can only extract the whole volume fraction from 0 to 1 which gives data points at the nodes which none of them are of the value of 0.5, but the software has no issue to produce that Isosurface with value of 0.5 as seen in first image. But how do I extract it as line or data points? Could anyone help me with this or point me in the right direction please?

Any replies will be greatly appreciated, Thank You!

I tried doing the same thing with a simulation I already had: if I open the data in Excel and apply a filter on the volume fraction column, I find values close to 0.5, not exactly the same but similar. I assume that the software constructs the isosurface by interpolating the data related to the cells.

If what you're interested in is visualizing the shape, I recommend making a contour of the Polymer Volume Fraction on the selected plane, setting a user-specified range with Min at 0.49 and Max at 0.51.

Thank you Moni for the reply, apparently that is the only way to work with this. Sometimes I am surprised how the commercial software's are limited when it come to data processing!
