Hi!! I am trying to model laser cladding in FLUENT. I have designed the system (shown in the image below). It consists of a base substrate surrounded by an inert gas atmosphere from above.
The metal deposition will take place over the substrate as the laser creates a melt pool. The continuity equation has an additional mass source term as shown in the image below:
As I understand, the mass source term will be added under cell zone conditions by changing phase to metal where options for mass source term comes. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Next, I need to deposit metal in the form of powder. This is done through injecting powder using DPM as given in the excerpt taken from a published result.
How to add this source term for the force? Do I use DEFINE_SOURCE or DEFINE_DPM_SOURCE?
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks
