I am trying to start Fluent 2023 R2 Meshing with 36 cores. Processor is AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7995WX.

I get the following error:

Code:

[mpiexec@OmarZaki] HYD_sock_write (..\windows\src\hydra_sock.c:387): write error (errno = 34)
I also tried starting fluent with the following commands
Code:
-mpi=openmpi
Code:
-mpi=intel2018
But it is the same error.

I tried Ansys Fluent 2023 R1, and it is working normally. I also tried launching Ansys Fluent 2023 R2 with 1 core, and it is working normally too; The output is the following:
Code:

I made sure all prerequisites were installed. Also, I tried Ansys 2024 R1 and it gives me the same error.

I'm encountering the same issue right now. I have a dual CPU EPYC build and Fluent 2023R2 and 2024R1 crashes with the same issue.

The only version that is actually loading is 2023R1.

Please let me know if you find a solution. Thanks!

I have not found a solution yet. I am trying to communicate with Ansys Help Platform now to find a solution, but they are extremely slow in their replies.

I worked with my vendor support to try to figure this issue out and it really wasn't going anywhere. I ended up switching my workstation to RedHat Enterprise Linux and was able to fully install and run the latest Fluent. It's running now using all 192 available cores.

That's unfortunate. I guess I will have to do something similar.

After discussing the issue with Ansys Help Desk, here is what worked for me, using command line:
Code:
"C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\v241\fluent\ntbin\win64\fluent.exe" 3d -r24.1.0 -mpi=intel2018 -peth -t6

I am also having the same issue.

How can I apply the command to the fluent (fluid meshing) workbench analysis?
