AtifIsmail is on a distinguished road
I am working on Numerical Simulation of Hydrualic Fracturing using ANSYS Fluent and transient mechanical, I have some confusions, kindly if you may assist me.

I am simulating a case in which a fluid is injected in borehole of 90mm depth in a cylinder of 60mm dia and 120 mm length. I am considering pre-existing fractures at the depth of the borehole.

Workflow is: pore pressure from fluent to ansys transient and recalculation of stresses and displacement (fracture geometry) and transfer of new geometry (displacement) into fluent for new pore pressure.

1) How I ensure that pressure is applied inside the preexisting fracture?
2) How to find the fracture width and length at specific load.
3) can we do numerical simulation of hydraulic fracturing without considerations of preexisting fracture?

Regards,
