Hello friends,

i want to simulate filling a tank(0.3 Litres) in 3 D with hydrogen with a defined mass flow (real gas hydrogen). I want to see how the temperature and pressure increase. My problem is the wall temperature do not change. In mesh i did a manual contact region and so my wall should be connectet to my fluid (hydrogen). I did that simulation in 2D and my wall temperature did change.

Maybe the problem is because i patched my wall temperature to 293K? But why did the wall temp. change then in 2D (also manual contact in mesh)? i also didnt do shared topology or built from the 2 cylinders(wall body and fluid body) 1 part.

Do u also can tell me if my simulation does make sense? Only after 2 seconds my temperature went from 256K to 400K and from 1 bar to 38 bar (temperature do not increase any more really). I could explain to myseld because of the "high" mass flow and the "low" volume from the tank. Is it normal that the temp goes straight to the back of the tank?

My conditions:

m_H2_flow=0.8 g/s, T_H2=256K k-eps, enery eq. on

op. cond 1bar (floating cond. on), timestep size 0.05, iterations 35, free steam 293K and 10 W/m²K

Patch: wall temp_293K

Thanks in advance
Last edited by Simon1303; January 15, 2024 at 10:05.
