Hello,
I'm trying to simulate a thermal energy storage. It has hot water stored in a tank which the water is stationary. A duct embedded onto this tank and ambient air drawn from outside into the duct and I want to observe outlet temperature as heat transfer occurs between air duct and hot water. I'm solving this transient. I've divided this problem into 2 parts. First one is the fan and duct system. I modeled the fan and duct and obtained mass flow rate, velocity distributions inside the duct. Mass flow rate is important for me because I'm wondering how different types of fins affect heat transfer. Each fin geometry affects mass flow and velocity distributions. Now I want to export this velocity distribution from the solution to heat transfer simulation between air duct and water. I don't want to solve duct flow again. How can I import the velocity distribution that I obtained in previous solution? The reason I wanted to solve this problem in 2 parts is because I have to use very small time step while modeling the air duct and fan. For the heat transfer part with the tank, I cannot use same time step because it will take forever to finish. Thanks for the help. |
