Hi there,
I faced a problem in Ansys Fluent where I was simulating an external aerodynamics case but I found the solution and wanted to share with you guys. Problem: The case was half of a wing and at the root of the wing there is a symmetry boundary condition, the mesh was generated using Fluent meshing with volume mesh of poly-hexcore. The problem was that the residuals were converged and solution monitoring outputs were constant, but the pressures and velocity contours show a constant value through the whole flow domain, and this value was not logical at all. Solution After several trails it was found that this error was because the poly-hexcore mesh. Somehow poly-hexcore mesh seems to be not working with the symmetry boundary condition. When I changed the volume mesh to polyhedra I got a logical results and the solution was converged and everything was ok. If anyone knows about this error or have a certain document please share it with us |
