Hi, I'm creating an SLM simulation on ansys fluent. My material is basalt, which has a melting point of about 1450K. I am modelling my simulation after an experiment so I know the temperatures and results I am looking for (the temperature of the heat source should be about 1800K). Originally, I had a thermal conductivity of 0.75 and I was getting the right temperatures, but then I realized that I got the thermal conductivity wrong and it is actually 3. The simulation still runs and my temperatures are still acceptable but for some reason my sample is no longer melting even when the temperature is higher than the melting point. Can somebody please offer some suggestions on how to get my sample to melt again?
