Transient profile in Fluent

Dear All,
I am doing an unsteady problem with a profile. I am applying transient profile in boundary condition. The problem is 3D. This is the profile type ((data transient 4 0) (time 0 1 2 3 ) (pressure 101325 100333 99000 95000 ) ) The next thing is that I applied this profile in BC where pressure values are being read from profile in pressure far field Problem is that the Fluent is not reading this profile except for first few values. What could be the reason? (N.B for shortening of discussion I have mentioned only 4 values while they are actually 181) |

Did you violate the rule that time must be in ascending order? Do you have duplicate times?
For debugging have you tried, actually verifying which line is or is not read and terminating your provided list there? For example, if only the first 150 lines are read, shortening your list to just the first 149 lines and then trying again with 150 and then 151? I mean clearly this profile can be read, no? And if you were to extend this profile to 181 lines it would work, yes? Instead of having us guess at what the problem is, and rather than providing examples that work, how about you provide representative data or steps to reproduce your problem. |

Time is in ascending order.
I think that Fluent is not even reading the profile or picking the profile at all. Time values are 0,1,2,3 and so on. The values of pressure (at different points in the flow domain) remains unchanged after 1 second of time. which is very strange since the input profile has different values at different time. |

pressure values change only till 0.5 seconds.

I am not convinced that Fluent cannot read more than 4 lines and I can't debug an example that clearly works.
Have you tried using a pressure inlet instead? The far field pressure BC may be expecting a different field name. Actually have you tried importing this working example? At this point I'm rdy to bet that it doesn't work either. |
