Hi, I am trying to compute the mixing time in a stirred vessel, I am modelling this in Fluent using MRF and SM approaches. For the MRF, given it is a steady state method, after resolving the flow profile in steady state, I just initialised the data in the vessel with that result and solved the tracer diffusion equation only, and not the flow equations in a transient simulation to predict the the change in concentration over time.
I want to do something similar with the sliding mesh, I have the flow profile resolved, could I then use a similar approach to tracking tracer difusion in the stirred vessel? So, turning of tracer the solution for the flow equations and only solving the tracer equation?

With a sliding mesh approach, you will have to solve for the flow equations too. That is unless you have an unbaffled tank where the time-averaged and each instantaneous flow field is the same.
